We allowed it to happen. Seduced by connectivity, the promise of community, and the sin of vanity, we allowed tech companies to track our every move, decision and purchase with a glorified mini-computer in our hands. Did we realize what we gave away for these ‘freedoms?’ It allowed tech companies, private businesses and the government to spy on us. We consented without knowing the full implications. We gave away our data to benefit those entities, and they sell it to each other; an industry worth billions of dollars.

From an AI image, I made variations in photoshop, and added details to the basic image.; and animated those frames to produce a lighting storm effect. I used Touchdesigner to animate red particles that represent our data being collected and sold, and green particles to represent the lies and propaganda that our devices serve up 24/7.

Many talk about Universal Basic Income, a socialist dream where the government gives your tax dollars to live. Why rely on the government, when it COULD be paid by every device makes, every tech company, every data broker and client? PAY US FOR OUR DATA! It can be fractional, with a piece paid by everyone in that communication supply chain. Think of all the devices you use that collect data. if each company paid a fractional amount, I bet the average user could have a basic income to make even Bernie Sanders happy.

But it wont happen if we don’t demand it. PAY US!
